If you choose to climb on foot, start from the country park visitor center and walk along the concrete road to reach the top in about two hours. If you go during November to December, you will find a large area of charming golden miscanthus along the way. Beautiful view of Melaleuca - Shing Mun Reservoir
Shing Mun Reservoir is a hot spot for outings, and it is also very suitable for bringing dogs to a “forest bath”. From the Pineapple Dam Nature Trail into the White Melaleuca Forest Road, the forest planting area is picturesque and the sound of running water is gurgling. Shortly after the trip, there is a pond beside the white layered pond. The reflections in the water and the trees are intertwined, and every shot is beautiful. Going up to the viewing platform, the quiet forest scene turns into a magnificent landscape in a blink of an eye. If you like the big grass, you can walk along the road to the main dam to the "Shing Mun Picnic Site No. 12" and rest on the grass by the pond. The entire route is mostly flat and easy, with few uphills and downs. However, it is important to note that this area is the habitat of monkeys, and there are also many cattle and wild boars. It is necessary to deal with the reactions and emotions of dogs in the face of wild animals.
